Welcome to Café Libris

You step in through a wood framed glass door. It is warm inside; both in atmosphere and temperature. It smells like old books and sandalwood. You look around. The mismatched furniture puts a smile on your face. It all looks so comfy.

The walls are filled with book shelves on which there must be hundreds of books. All well read. The spaces in between are filled with pictures and artwork of books and coffee and…mystical things. In the distance, at the back, you see a sliding door leading into an outdoor space. Are those herbs? Yes, they must be! How quaint.

You hear someone grazing a display of crystals and divination tools. You look around and see there is a whole section dedicated to divination with cards and books and curated tools. Everything is arranged with love. The coffee machine brings you back to the counter, in front of which you’re standing; feeling a little lost but at home at the same time.

You order the Libris special of the day — a matcha latte with a hint of orange — and a vegan ham and cheese toasty. After you’ve paid, I tell you to take a seat and that I’d bring your order to your table. When I arrive to serve you, I’ve also chosen a book from the shelves that I think will keep you good company. You are surprised to find it’s exactly what you’ve been looking for. You ask if you can buy it and I nod, telling you to bring it over when you’re leaving.

Hours pass, you’ve ordered another snack and at least two more drinks. The times has moved so quickly as you were immersed in the book, taking notes as you went along. Time to leave; for today. You know you’ll be back.
